Sigismond de Vajay was born in Paris and lives in both Barcelona and Buenos Aires from where he works as curator as well as artist on projects for institutions and cultural festivals in different countries.
From 1991 to 2002, he was the head of Toit du Monde, a center for contemporary art in Vevey, Switzerland. There, he organized countless exhibitions, concerts, performances and screenings of film and video-art. In 2002, along with André Baldinger, he published his first book on contemporary culture with Lars Müller Publisher. In 2004, he started KBB (Kültur Büro Barcelona), which focuses on developing cultural projects in Spain in collaboration with institutions, in other countries (France, Switzerland, Germany, Chile, Brazil and Venezuela).
In parallel to his artist activity, he also works as a freelance curator for specific projects and participates in juries for an array of festivals and art schools including Belluard Bollwerk International, Fribourg (Switzerland), Foto España, Madrid (Spain), Ecole des Beaux Arts de Genève (Switzerland) and Perpignan (France).
